Coming off a successful 2015, the Carnival Planning and Management Agency (CPMA) and the National Carnival Queen Pageant Committee have commenced the journey for a new National Carnival Queen for 2016. Auditions are set for Sunday March 13, 2016 at the National Cultural Centre from 2:00 pm. Young ladies from across Saint Lucia between the ages of seventeen and twenty-three are invited to be part of this life-changing opportunity. Participants are expected to make a brief but dynamic introduction and will be judged in the segments of Swimwear, Talent, Evening Wear and Interview.

Last year’s pageant saw many new innovations which included a very early sashing ceremony at which contestants were showered with gifts from sponsors, contestants’ adoption of local charities, the first-ever National Queen Pageant roadshow, sponsor-hosted events, among others. 2015’s National Carnival Queen Miss Yvana David walked away with the grand prize of a four year education scholarship to Universidad Due Quintana Roo in Cancun, Mexico, through the Mexican Embassy, a cash prize of $10,000 and a weekend for two at Anse Chastenet. All contestants received spa treatments, designer Meme Bete bags, cash awards, special category awards and more.
