On Thursday night Saint Lucia recorded yet another homicide. Thirty-six year old Barthelmy Cox, also known as Diego or BB Boy, was fatally shot at his residence in Ciceron, Castries.
Information reaching the STAR is that Cox persistently tried to get his daughter away from an abusive relationship with a young male. On Thursday
Cox apparently intervened during a fracas between his daughter and her boyfriend when he was shot in the chest and killed.
Eyewitnesses say that following a quarrel the boyfriend of Cox’s daughter left after being asked to do so by Cox, but not before making threats. It is alleged that he returned a few minutes later with another male and started firing shots from near the home where the father lived with his daughter.
Several shots were said to have been fired at Cox who confronted the men and was shot in the chest. His daughter managed to escape unharmed. Up to press time the suspects were yet to be apprehended by the police.
