It was just over a year ago, that Claudia made waves throughout the Caribbean when she auditioned and got selected for a role that many artists would only dream about. The Human Affect Production team gave the young artist the thumbs up for a lead role in their brand new musical on Broadway.
Since then, Claudia has been in and out of New York attending training and rehearsal sessions, which she admitted were very strenuous but yet very exciting and rewarding. To date, she is still with the initiative, but it seems like Claudia sadly, may have to say goodbye to the team.
“So much has changed since the opportunity was first presented” she says. Due to funding issues, restructuring and the uncertainty of the actual production schedule,
she says that she regretfully is unable to commit to the initiative any longer,
although she still strongly believes in the message of human rights. She wishes the production well in their endeavors, and looks forward to attending the shows
when possible. Claudia admits that it was indeed a decision that she has struggled with, but sees her future moving in a different direction.
Meanwhile, as Claudia has never been one to sit on her laurels, the artist has been approached with a new offer which she says is exactly where she wants to be. “I am in discussions with a company in Nashville, to do the things that I love; writing, recording and live performances. My life is taking a new turn, and I am looking forward to a wonderful future,” she explains.
Claudia performed on June 23, 2011 with her new band, at the Blues and Boogie Club in Nashville, where big names such as Bad Company, Dixie Chicks, Etta James, James Brown and many more have jammed.
Claudia is elated about the prospects ahead and looks forward to represent her country at every given opportunity.
To say Claudia Edward is an accomplished singer is very much a gross understatement as she has proven over the years that she is more than just that. A “consummate performer” would be closer to hitting the mark as she has definitely made her mark on stage in so
