A contingent of St Lucian boxers returned home last evening after competing at a weekend boxing tournament in neighboring Martinique.

The St Lucian boxers returned home with 10 medals—three gold and seven silver. The gold medal winners were Dalton “Hurricane” George who knocked out his opponent in the second round. Josiah Agustine also won his fight via the knockout route. He had a technical knockout of his opponent in the first round.

St Lucia’s other gold medal came courtesy of Miguel Auguste.

The silver medal winners were lone female Lisa Alexander, Adolph Augustine, Darius Cetoute, Travis Maynard, Giovanni Ermay, Thomas Melville and Lyndell Marcellin.

Garfield Jean and Ron Bastien made the trip but did not get the opportunity to compete.

The boxers were accompanied to Martinique by St Lucian based Cuban Coach Renaldo Toledo and Manager George Alfred.
