Gros Islet Youth Footballers receive donated balls

Written By: Star Reporter on Nov 28th, 2008

On Saturday November 22, the Gros Islet Youth Footballers were recipients of footballs donated by Mr Therold Prudent a St Lucian residing in the United States.  Mr Prudent who has been very interested in the development of the Gros Islet community from his early years as a resident, was happy with the program and the focus on the youth and children, and hoped that his contribution will assist with the program.

“I heard of the program but seeing the reality of the situation has brought home the need to assist the obviously needy children and I am happy to contribute in any way I can” says Mr Prudent as he handed over the footballs to the children.  Mr Prudent has indicated his commitment in mobilizing other St Lucians in the US upon his return there to lend further assistance to the programme.

Miss Jennifer Gaston, the co-ordinator of the programme and the children thanked Mr Prudent for his support and hoped that his commitment and promise of further assistance will be forthcoming in the future which can only go towards the benefit of the young people in the Gros Islet community.
