Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a young man and the stabbing of another at Sandy Beach, Vieux-Fort.
According to reports, about 10:00pm, on Sunday the 25thof July, 2010, 36-year-old, Winston Willie of Desruisseaux, quarter of Micoud, was attending an open-air party at Sandy Beach, Vieux-Fort, when he was shot in the leg during an altercation involving a group of men.
He was taken to the medical facility at the George Odlum Stadium where he is presently admitted in a stable condition.
Another young man, Vivian Camille a.k.a “Davy”, 30 years old, also of Desruisseaux, was stabbed in the back while attending the party at Sandy Beach. He is presently admitted in a critical condition at the medical facility at the aforesaid stadium.
No one has been arrested in connection with these incidents and police are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact the Vieux-Fort Police Station at telephone number: 4563905 or 4563926. Persons can also call the crime hotline at telephone number: 2856105.

all beaches where people frequent should be patrolled by police and not only where tourist frequent…………..we stlucians whenever we drink we get on ignorant and usually want to fight……these days its knife or gun………..200 tourist on a boat ride ,all drunk ….not one fight……..30 lucians on a boat ride 3 fights 1 injured……go figure
