Pulse’s Vogue Model Jeneil Wiliams has her sights set on conquering Europe, having firmly established herself in the American modelling hierarchy. Williams, who is based in NY and represented by New York models, is demonstrating her bonafide star qualities with a series of exclusive jobs for German, French and North American fashion and technology clients.
After being tipped by Italian Vogue in their all important ‘black girls’ issue as one of the hottest new faces in fashion, the svelte beauty has set a blistering pace for 2009 with her latest editorials for some of Europe’s top glossies as well as a major campaign for Jawbone, the latest in Bluetooth mobile technology.
The reigning ‘it’ gadget of the telecommunications market, Jawbone selected the Jamaican model as the lead in their debut campaign. Just like a good pair of stilettos, the sleek and stylish Jawbone, the headpiece is bound to become the industry’s newest ‘must have’ item and who better to start the trend than the Pulse model. In addition to making major waves in campaign adverts, Jeneil has also been very busy with commitments to several international magazines.
Germany’s fashion and lifestyle journal Deustch magazine sees the hot Jamaican star take center spread under the watchful lens of ace Jamaican-born photographer Walter Chin who has also rendered service for Elle, Allure, Vogue and Vanity Fair. The fashion magazine which is only published once per quarter captures the black beauty against the white wonderland of Manhattan as they rave the latest trends. It was then off to France for Jeneil as she recently wrapped up a lingerie shoot for the uber sexy magazine—French GQ. Her exotic looks and perfectly sculpted body were perfect for the shoot. Slated for March release, Williams is eagerly awaiting its publication.
“The shoot went great and I’m very excited about this story. I think the pictures will be really fierce,” says the model. With her debut for GQ, Jeneil joins the renowned roster of Pulse models and Caribbean Model Search (CMS) alumnae including GQ cover girl Carla Campbell, Jaunel Mckenzie and Nell Robinson who have worked for the illustrious men’s magazine.
This past Christmas, the model also had an active presence in the US as she starred in retail giant Macy’s winter catalogue donning fashions for urban brand Baby Phat and Christian Audigier’s trendy Ed Hardy label. “The gear for Baby Phat and Ed Hardy were fantastic. Instead of the usual drab winter theme, both designers elected to use tons of color and include patterns. The pieces were really great and a pleasant festive change,” relays Jeneil. Immediately following the Macy’s shoot, the Pulse star went to work with mega retailer Target where similarly, the buzz was all about winter fashion.
Her larger than life prints went out on display in Target outlets all across the US just in time for the holiday rush. Jeneil along with Caribbean Model Search alum and Pulse agency mate Gaye McDonald were also featured in the December edition of Vibe Magazine posing arm in arm with rising R&B star Ryan Leslie. The two beauties take lead credits in his video “Addiction” which also features established R&B crooner Cassie and the talented rapper Fabolous. The urban, hip-hop magazine invited the crooner Ryan Leslie and the dark leggy stunners Gaye and Jeneil to rock some of the biggest names in fashion including Yves St Laurent, Tom Ford, Prada and Gap for a gorgeous haute couture spread titled ‘Dress To Express.’
Continuing her ‘in demand’ streak, Jeneil’s international agency, New York Models, also confirmed just this week that the model would also be featured in Depesha, Russia’s bilingual fashion and lifestyle magazine. Details are that the model will be shot by Michael Webber and will feature the highly rated Costello Tagliapietra line.
Always a pace setter, the style maven continues to do her local and international agencies proud with her varied triumphs and accomplishments. Her growth and prowess are demonstrated with the publication of each cover, editorial spread and lead campaign. Jeneil was discovered by Pulse in 2005 through the Caribbean Model Search (CMS) exercise. She has since sky-rocketed to stardom in fashion and has been featured in magazines such as American and Italian Vogue, Essence, Cosmo, Japan’s Luire, Hip Hop Magazine Trace among others.
