The Bank of Nova Scotia has again come forward and renewed their commitment to OECS swimming with a financial contribution of $5000—making them one of the main sponsors of the 2009 OECS Swimming Championships to be held in Grenada from November 6-8 at the Good Hope Pool.

In these times when many sponsors waver and sometimes encounter difficulty with their commitments, The Bank of Nova Scotia has been a trusted partner for the sport of swimming and in particular the OECS Swimming Championship.

At a special presentation, the sponsorship cheque for $5000 was presented by Bank of Nova Scotia Manager, Delia Charlemagne; to St Lucia Amateur Swimming Association Executive member, Lorna Innocent. She was accompanied by five members of the National OECS Swim Team team, namely Morgan Danzie, Solange Lenihan, Thalia Bergasse, Ethan Dyke-Elliott and Vanessa Eugene.

St Lucia has lost the Championships for the past three years, but is confident of regaining the Championships in 2009 even though Grenada has the home advantage. The St Lucia team has been under intense training six days a week preparing the swimmers.

This year’s championship again offers to be keenly contested between arch rivals Grenada and St Lucia.
