Peter St Croix, known to all the Karaoke fans as “Yellow Man” from the village of Anse La Raye, was crowned the Chairman’s Ultimate Karaoke Champion at the Grand Finals on Wednesday 27th October and was awarded the grand prize of EC$1000 in cash, a trophy and a drink hamper.

The second and third place winners both received a trophy and drink hampers. Second place winner Cornelia “Misty” Jacobs of Vieux Fort walked away with EC$500 while third place winner Mr Jerry Joseph of Castries received EC$250. Drink hampers were given to Christopher “Chris” Wilson for fourth place and Antonia Wharton for being the most Dynamic Performer for the night.

The event which took place at Prio’s Country Palace situated upstairs the Castries Market, drew a massive crowd and began at 9pm featuring 20 finalists from the north and south zones. The much anticipated event lived up to all expectations as the standard and quality of the performances were in keeping with similar events on the international stage. The Competition was able to provide quality entertainment to the patrons and the supporters which was the objective of the sponsor.

A representative of St Lucia Distillers, who are the organisers and sponsor of the event through their brand Chairman’s Reserve Rum, expressed their appreciation to all the participants, patrons and bar owners for their support of the Event which was held throughout the island over the two month period. They assured all present that plans are already in place for making the event an annual one with next year’s Ultimate Karaoke Competition including more communities, making it bigger and better.

At the end of the event, all the finalists expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to portray their talent and are looking forward to participating again next year.
