The ten-day celebration will take place from May 1st to 9th, 2010 beginning with fringe events and climaxing with a powerhouse four day line-up performing 6th to 9th May on the main stage.

The annual Festival brings together the rich, dusky tones of jazz, sensuous soul, cool calypso beats and world rhythms from some of the greatest artistes in the music industry, and attracts music lovers from all corners of the globe. Next year’s thrilling line-up includes Earl Klugh, Jean-Luc Ponty, Maxi Priest, Steel Pulse, Foreigner, Carimi, Harvey Millar, Monty Maxwell, Carl Gustave and Teddyson John for one of the best parties in the Caribbean.

Speaking ahead of the official UK launch of Saint Lucia Jazz, which coincides with the World Travel Market currently taking place in London, Tourism Director Louis Lewis stated that “this is just the start of yet another incredible line-up for Saint Lucia Jazz. The Saint Lucia Tourist Board is in the process of finalizing contracts with some other world renowned artistes. The full line up will be disclosed shortly.

Now in its 19th year, Saint Lucia Jazz is the Caribbean’s most established jazz event and has achieved international recognition and awards. The stunning scenery, tropical climate, crystal clear waters and world famous Pitons provide the perfect backdrop for the event.

“Saint Lucia Jazz is always a spectacular occasion, bringing to life the Caribbean’s exuberance and capturing the spirit of this magnificent island, comments Senator Allen Chastanet, Saint Lucia’s Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation. “We’re so excited about the 2010 line-up particularly given the fact that we now have jet Blue and Condor flying in, as well as additional British Airways flights. It is promising to be a stunning and memorable event.” Senator Chastanet was awarded the title of ‘Caribbean Travel Personality of the Year’ earlier this month at the prestigious 2009 World Travel Awards in London.

Visitors to the island at that time will be in for a two-for-one treat as Saint Lucia will be one of the host nations for the International Cricket Council’s World Twenty20 Tournament (ICC WT20). The two Group Stage matches will take place before the main stage shows of Saint Lucia Jazz with the Super 8s. The Semi Final matches take place in the week following Jazz.

  5. The healines reads “Legendary international artistes Foreigner and Steel Pulse for Jazz 2010″ and there is a photo of Foreigner at the top and no Photo of Steel Pulse and that’s messed up…. Steel Pulse is a Caribbean Reggae Band and this website / publication can’t even put up a photo of the band. The Steel Pulse band is made up of Rastas and the contents of their music are lyrics of positivity. Their message music is a plus for our people in these uncertain times specially the youth giving them inspiration, motivation and an education in life and could put a dent in the crime wave ravanging this tiny island.
Call me self appointed spokesman for the Rastas and for me it’s all good…. I can deal with that… I will continue to throw fire on mediocrity, vagueness, exclusion and things not accurately defined. I may sound provocative and irritate the status quo but I I got to be real. I have no control over this but It’s up to you if want to consider and embed my comments; all I can do is move on.
