The Ministry of Social Transformation, Youth and Sports in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture will be hosting its second annual Jump Rope Festival on December 9.
The festival will be held at the Beausejour Indoor Facility in Gros Islet, and is expected to attract both Primary and Secondary school students from all around the island.
The main objective of the activity is to create the awareness among students of the importance of physical activity. Students will also engage in fun filled and healthy experiences that are aimed at personal growth.
Schools participating in the festival will each present a three-minute jump rope routine. These routines are expected to exhibit the students’ flexibility, dexterity and overall talent through selected forms and figures.
At the end of the festival certificates will be presented to all participating schools.
The festival starts at 9am and will last until 3pm and is sponsored by the Ministry of Social Transformation, Youth and Sports as part of its Sports for All (Healthy Lifestyle Program.)
