After spending a weekend behind bars, Julian and Moeita Adjodha were granted bail on Monday April 11.  The couple was arrested and charged on Thursday April 7 in connection with 93.9lbs of marijuana found concealed on their Beausejour business compound on March 17.  The drugs were found hidden in sealed metal barrels containing dishwashing liquid and are valued at EC$75,200.
The Forty-five-year-old man and his 41-year-old wife have both been charged with Possession of Controlled Drugs and Possession with Intent to Supply. Julian Adjodha is also charged separately with Importing Controlled Drugs.
The Adjodhas first appeared before a magistrate on Friday April 8 represented by local attorneys Lorne Theophilus and Gerald Williams.  The STAR has been reliably informed that the couple also secured two Jamaican Queen Counsels namely QC Kenneth Churchill Neita and QC Delano Harrison, who were on island.
The attorneys for the defendants filed a bail application on Friday but the application was not heard.  The application came before Justice Kenneth Benjamin on Monday.  Theophilus appeared for the defense while Tina Mensah appeared for the Crown.
The Adjodhas were granted bail of $10,000 on each of the five charges or suitable security with one surety on each charge.  Further, they have to surrender their passports and are prohibited from leaving the state without permission from the court.  Additionally, the couple has to report to the Gros Islet Police Station every Monday and Friday before 6pm.

Should cops catch a person using drugs, he should be ordered to seek help at a drug abuse rehab facility. Drug pushers and traffickers, on the other hand, have to be brought to trial and meted justice.

Legalize it! Maybe the government will cash in on the profits as well and the illegal transactions will be no more. I know this sounds drastic to some but remember alcohol was also illegal and moonshiners kept the underground trade going with murders and vice similar to the drug trade of today. Marijuana has medicinal benefits which I don’t think cocaine and other pharmaceuticals possess. Similar to alcohol, it should be regulated, for example, putting age limits and not driving under the influence, etc. We are in the twenty-first century and have learned that alcohol can cause cirrhosis of the liver; however, no such claims for marijuana. In alleviates pain, nausea and helps with…

Report twice a week, how generous. They should be reporting everday including Sunday. This case will just vanish whithout any incident. I wonder whose toes were stumbled on to cause this ganja discovery. The big jail is a multi cultural center of St. Lucia.
