The Office of the Governor-General wishes to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Edward, Earl and Countess of Wessex, will be in Saint Lucia during the celebration of her 33rd Anniversary of Independence.
Whilst in Saint Lucia, Their Royal Highnesses the Earl and Countess of Wessex will attend the Independence Day Parade, a cultural dance performance, visit the St John Association of Saint Lucia Headquarters and the St Lucia School of Music, as well as attend receptions hosted by the Governor-General and the Prime Minister.
Saint Lucia will be the first port of call by Their Royal Highnesses who will be visiting Barbados, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Trinidad & Tobago, Montserrat, St Kitts, Anguilla and Antigua as part of the celebrations to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
They are scheduled to arrive in Saint Lucia on Tuesday 21st February 2012 and depart on the evening of Wednesday 22nd February 2012.

The boosla children have come to mako the party, so make sure you put on a good show and take lots of photo opps with wide bright smiles, never mind all the trees in St. Lucia are dying we will celebrate independence from England. This is like a divorced couple hanging out and pretending the life is much better now.
I must say I concur
O well there goes the neighborhood
Long live our Gracious Queen.
I think Compton gave us the shaft and hence I think that we should have stayed as an Overseas Territory. Our little experiment has failed, but I would still rather stay within the Monarchy than be a republic.
God save the Queen, and Saint Lucia.
The case and point I am never wrong.
Get a life Mate! You are seriously deluded to carry around such antiquated thinking. We have moved on from the ole colonial days.
We don’t owe allegiance to a woman who does not give a toss about us. She most probably does not even know whether we are alive or dead. Why do people like you champion her cause?
St Lucia needs its own head of state not a woman in far away Europe who don’t know where St Lucia is. We don’t want to be a laughing stock like dominions such as Australia, Canada and New Zealand. These countries are so called first world countries yet they have the queen as their head of state.St Lucia can do better than that. Yes we Can.

Wake up my Lucian people what has the royal family done for St.Lucia.
The government of St.Lucia will be wasting our money to entertain these useless people.
The government should be concentrating on helping the people of St.Lucia and the infrastructure of St.Lucia instead of focusing on people who do not contribute to our society.
Fuuny, I’m wondering, Why is this significant?
Who is this guy. I can almost guarantee that less than 3% of the population ever heard of him, so unless he’s bringing something, let him get in and get out
he is only Queen Eliabeths son!
Ma’am you obviously don’t get the point.THe people who affect our lives in general everyday can walk through here almost unnoticed but this man who I am sure is coming with nothing to offer and quite possibly came just to confirm that royalty still counts gets and will treatment better than people like MR.CHOU who actually do something.
i hear you and i understand, i guess that is true of life everywhere, and perhaps i am guilty of not knowing enough, but at the same time, does anyone individual ever do enough for a community…..we all try to our bit is my hope.
one thing i can say with confidence is that Prince Willaim and Harry – the departed Princess Dianas sons, particularly do a lot for charity and support communities across the world
I grew up in gros islet and there was nothing I found more repulsive than children in almost blatant admiration stand of edge of the marina waving to tourist or trying to speak to them in the street. I don’t know about you but I’ve never seen anyone adore a black man anywhere in that way.You spoke of the princes, tell me one person you know (personally) who benefited from their charity? and , by the way, people like that do charity to quench their consciences. If they wanted to be generous to us they would pay off some of our debt or give us some money or better yet give us some economic help that at least results in a few thousand new jobs. think about it
This independence was a mistake, Fair helen would have been the crown jewel of the caribbean if under british rule, now we have a primitive govt with no hope out of the rut
Time for St Lucia to become a republic. Who is paying for this visit?Isn’t the Queen St Lucia’s head of state? So why are we getting third-rated representation by way of her little known son visiting our shores.
The queen should present herself to the people of St Lucia. Dame Louisy is her viceroy and I think its about time we make her president since the head of state is not bothered to set foot on our lovely isle. St Lucia is a sovereign independent state for crying out loud. Why settle for third best?
Lets follow Haiti, Trinidad, Dominica, Cuba, Dominican Republic. They are not being dictated to by people who don’t give a toss about them.
