The 2015 FCCA PAMAC Cruise Summit took place from 24-26 June at the Gran Ventana Hotel in Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata. More than 100 platinum members of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) and 20 senior-level cruise executives attended the three-day conference. Meetings and functions designed to foster platinum members’ development of working relationships, exchange of ideas and promotion of products and destinations to cruise executives were held. The cruise executives are the ones who decide where ships call, what sells on-board and how to invest in infrastructure.

In attendance from St. Lucia were Cox and Company Limited’s Directors, Catherine Cooper and Siobhan Beaubrun. Discussions were held with Carlos Torres de Navarra, Vice President, Commercial Port Operations Carnival Cruise Lines. He indicated that Carnival Cruise Lines, which has a vessel calling year round in Saint Lucia, is very committed to the sustainability of the Tourism Sector here. To this end, the cruise line is open to discussing ideas for products that can improve upon the guest experience: shore excursion related or otherwise.
