First Female Correctional Officer Arrested

On Tuesday November 4, 2014, a female correctional officer who was coming on the morning shift was searched in keeping with standard operating procedures of the Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF).

During the search conducted by the Special Operations Response Team, the individual was found to be carrying in her handbag a quantity of substance suspected to be hash, concealed in what appeared to be a cake.

She was escorted into police custody and is expected to be charged at a later date. The correctional officer is said to be a resident of Vieux Fort and has been employed with the BCF since 2007.

Officials have confirmed that she is the first female correctional officer ever arrested in connection with illegal substances.
