Gros Islet community hosts National Day activities

The Gros Islet community, with the assistance of the District Representative, Miss Emma Hippolyte, will be observing National Day with the hosting of two major events.

The first is a talent show, ‘Gros Islet Talent On Parade’, which will be staged on the cruise ship ‘Freewinds’ at Pointe Seraphine on Sunday December 13th, 2015 from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. The programme will showcase musical performances by students from the Gros Islet primary and secondary schools, the Gros Islet Secondary School Teachers Band, dance pieces, drumming, and poetry reading.

There will also be a modeling segment featuring the national wob dwiyet and hats worn by prominent personalities in society.

The National Day activities continue on Monday 14th December with a Family Fun Sports Day at the Gros Islet playing field.

The event will start with a parade of sportsmen and sportswomen to the field at 10:00am and the day will feature competitions like the sack race, egg in spoon race and other fun sporting cctivities in addition to cricket and football matches.
