But for Heineken’s football fans, there is still a chance to enjoy the game with friends and fans at the biggest viewing party around for next week’s final.

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will play each other in this year’s UEFA Champions League finals at Wembley stadium on Saturday May 25, 2013, sponsored by Heineken. And here in Saint Lucia, the Heineken brand has decided once again to give fans a unique experience through its annual viewing party, which will be held for the second year in the city of Castries at the Derek Walcott Square.

“Last year was phenomenal,” Gaius Harry Heineken’s Brand Manager says. “It was truly a great experience based on what we heard from fans and supporters. This year we are back again at the Derek Walcott Square to share this experience on the largest screen around, which is a 20ft by 20ft screen.”

The Derek Walcott Square next week will be transformed into a huge Heineken Beer Garden and viewing party venue with pre-game activities and giveaways. Half-time excitement will also feature entertainment. The action begins at 11 am with food and drinks on sale as well as lots of cold Heineken specials.

The event is open to the general public for free, but, there are special tickets which can be won to be a part of the VIP experience in the Heineken viewing party grand stand. Winners wiill receive a special treat while enjoying the game, and all they have to do for a chance at a VIP pass is purchase Heineken at various bar promotions. There will also be radio giveaways leading up to the game and one lucky person can also win a trip to Trinidad for the viewing party there, compliments Heineken.

“As a premium brand, Heineken always seeks to keep consumers in tune with international events, whether it is through music and our various promotions, movie premiers and of course, the UEFA Champions League,” Harry pointed out.

The UEFA Champions League is attended by thousands each year and viewed by millions of football fans all over the globe during the “live” television broadcast.
