LIME Brings ESPNFC Press Pass to Saint Lucia!

Coming to St Lucia for one week!

ESPN Caribbean is one of the region’s favourite sports channels, with coverage of West Indies cricket, NBA basketball and all of the world’s top football leagues. Now, thanks to the island’s leading cable television provider, ESPN Caribbean is coming to Saint Lucia. LIME TV is working with ESPN to bring the popular programme, ESPNFC Press Pass on island for one week. The broadcast team from ESPN Caribbean will be here 11-16 November to record segments for transmission to the channel’s international audience.
“This is the sort of initiative that only LIME TV can undertake,” says LIME General Manager, Chris Williams. “We have leveraged our relationships with content providers like WSEE, HBO and Cartoon Network over the years to give our customers unparalleled access to the shows that they love. LIME TV offers more channels to more communities at the best price through our digital TV product. This is initiative is just another way of offering more value, and we are excited about our partnership with ESPN.”
“ESPN is thrilled to be working with LIME to bring the LIME/ESPN Soccer Clinic to St Lucia,” said Bernard Stewart, general manager, ESPN Caribbean & Maritime Media.  “LIME shares our commitment to investing in the community, especially in young footballers on the island.  We are also particularly grateful to the Ministries of Youth Development & Sports and Education, the Saint Lucia Football Association, and the Beausejour stadium for their efforts to help make this event happen.”
Former Trinidad & Tobago goalkeeper, Shaka Hislop and Jamaica’s World Cup 1998 striker, Robbie Earle will be part of the ESPN broadcast team. The dynamic duo will also be hosting the LIME/ESPN Soccer Clinic for 100 boys and girls aged 12-14 from all corners of Saint Lucia, in collaboration with the Ministries of Youth Development & Sports and Education, and under the auspices of local governing body, the Saint Lucia Football Association.
It’s going to be a major treat for the young footballers. They benefit from world-class soccer drills and mentoring that will help them hone their skills, and ESPN Caribbean, the regional face of the global sports-TV brand, together with LIME, is going all out to provide the youths with a truly unforgettable experience. They will of course get mementoes of participation, and you can be sure that just being part of a clinic like this and rubbing shoulders with A-list professionals will be a huge fillip for their budding careers.
Says Chris, “We think this clinic will be a life-changing experience for some of the participating children. Saint Lucia and the tourism industry will benefit tremendously from the international exposure that the ESPN broadcasts will bring to our beautiful island. We are proud of what we are able to do through LIME TV, and we look forward to the day when our very own will be featured on channels like ESPN Caribbean.”
