[dropcap]S[/dropcap]aint Lucia Meteorological Services has issued a warning about potential flash flooding on the island. The flood advisory is valid for the next 24 hours and a press statement from the Met Office issued this morning read: A trough system is currently producing moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles. Due to the recent rains over the weekend, the soil moisture in some parts of the island is relatively high and as a result the possibility of flash flooding is heightened. Residents in areas prone to flooding and landslides are asked to be vigilant. Also motorists are advised to be cautious. The Saint Lucia Meteorological Service will closely monitor this feature and will issue additional statements if necessary.
