The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force would like to remind the general public that no intoxicating liquor should be sold or supplied on polling day.

According to section 72 of the Elections Act 2008;

“No intoxicating liquor shall be sold, offered for sale, supplied or given away, at any premises situate in any electoral district in which an election is being held, to which a licence issued under the Liquor Licence Act, or under the Registration of Proprietary Clubs Act or under any other enactment applies, at any time between the opening and the closing of the poll on polling day”.

Polls shall be opened at 6:30 a.m. and closed at 6:00 p.m. on Monday June 6, 2016.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force urges the citizenry to adhere to this law as any person who contravenes section 72 shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500 or to imprisonment for 6 months.
