With the Gros Islet and Soufriere community carnivals rounding off the Carnival season here in Saint Lucia last weekend, Piton Beer, the gold sponsor and official beer for Saint Lucia’s Carnival, wishes to express congratulations to all the winners and participants of one of the island’s largest cultural showcases. From the official launching of carnival and the bands, to last weekend’s community carnivals, Piton Beer was an integral part of the event, going beyond being just mere sponsors but providing much needed technical and logistic support as well.

And so it is with a sense of pride that Piton Beer congratulates the winners including the 2013 Groovy, Power Soca Monarch and Road March King Ricky T, Calypso Queen Menel, Panorama Champions Pantime, Jouvert Band of the year “Bad Company,” Carnival Band of the Year winners Rituals (sponsored by Piton Beer) and second place Just 4 Fun (also sponsored by Piton), King of the Bands Red Unlimited and the Queen of the Bands Rituals.”

Piton would also like to once again wish its very own Piton Soca Starz winner Soca Bandit a very successful career as well as all of the other 2013 finalists. Of special note to the brand is Q-Pid, a finalist in the Calypso, Power and Groovy Monarch competition as well as the host of Piton Soca Starz.

Piton also salutes the community carnival winners Chrysla Jalim; Miss Micoud, Shauna Menald; Miss Gros Islet as well as the National Carnival Queen Amy Stephen and Piton’s very own Jamara Smith who was the first runner up in the National pageant.

“We admire the hard work, perseverance and determination that went into all the months of preparations by these individuals and entities and we at Piton would like to salute them for making carnival what it was,” Brand Manager for Piton, Rohan Lovence said.  “Generally, we believe that the participation of all of the entities, bands, revelers,  performers, organizers, sponsors, musicians,

artistes, suppliers, designers, vendors and patrons among others, have truly made Saint Lucia’s Carnival the grand spectacle that it was this year,” Lovence added.

Without taking anything away from the prize winners, the Brand Manager indicated that the revelers, participants and patrons who helped make the event what it was—safe, successful and enjoyable—can also consider themselves true winners.

This year Piton backed the island’s carnival with the theme “My Piton, My Carnival,” sponsoring the main organizing body the Carnival Stakeholders Committee as well as a number of events and entities. With its carnival branding emblazoned on the annual Carnival beer bottles, Piton Beer also engaged carnival lovers in several promotions and events including the popular Piton
Soca Starz, Piton Party in De Yard and the Piton Rev Up To Carnival Fete. Piton was also a sponsor of the community carnivals, Bay Gardens Calaloo Fridays, Calypso, Soca and Groovy Monarch, The King and Queen of the Bands and the Parade of the Bands. The
brand also sponsored some of the major carnival fetes including Cooler Lime, as
well as the carnival bands Just 4 Fun, Red Unlimited, Toxik Nation, Mas Action and Rituals.

“Once again we are quite pleased at the way Piton Beer was embraced by people across the island, not just as the beer of carnival but just simply a great beer brewed right here in Saint Lucia,” Lovence expressed. “I just want to again say thanks to all including the Government and people of Saint Lucia, the organizing committees, and all our friends and visitors. We are looking forward to a bigger and greater carnival in 2014,” he ended by saying.
