Restoring Sandy Beach One Tree at a Time

The Saint Lucia National Trust will be undertaking a tree planting exercise which will help build resilience at Sandy Beach, Vieux Fort. The exercise is one in a set of soft measures which were recommended to address coastal degradation within the Point Sable Environmental Protection Area (PSEPA). This initiative is one component of the project “Building Sustainability of the Coastal Communities of Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia and the Pointe Sable Environmental Protection Area (PSEPA)” being implemented by the Trust, with funding support by the United States Government through the Organization of American States (OAS) under the Sustainable Communities in Central America and the Caribbean Project – Phase II.

The Trust requests your assistance on Friday 30th October, 2015 at 3 p.m. and on Saturday 31st October at 9 a.m. to plant trees along Sandy Beach. The Trust encourages you to invite other volunteers to participate in this activity.
