Ricky T Dethroned

ricky-tSaint Lucia has a new power and groovy soca monarch. On Sunday evening 9 finalists came up against the then reigning power and soca monarch Ricky T in each category. The competition was held at the Beausejour Grounds, as part of a super weekend of activities for Saint Lucia’s carnival.
When it was all said and done Ezra d fun machine, a newcomer to the stage, was crowned the 2014 power soca monarch. His song “carnival rampage” aka “No Stoosh” was produced by studio 758. Placing second was Ambi with J Mouse third. J mouse another newcomer has the most unlikely hit of the season “Hurt It”. The song is one of the top contenders for the popular road march title.
In the groovy category Arthur is the new king with his song “Numb.” In second place was Ambi while his brother Ricky T placed third.
Saint Lucia carnival continues today Monday July 21 with the parade of the bands and ends on Tuesday July 22 with the last lap jump up.
