Piton Brand Manager Germaine Serieux says patrons can expect even more from the event.

The last one was held on Sunday September 26, 2010 in Canaries and was a real blast. Now, as promised, the first Piton River Lime for 2011 is here.
River limes which have long been a part of a national Sunday tradition, where families and friends gathered by a popular river to cook, share in food, drinks, games, music and dance, took on a new twist a few years ago with the introduction of the Piton River Lime. The idea is still the same with Saint Lucians and visitors coming together to discover various parts of the island, with the ice cold brew of a Piton topping it all off.
This time, the stop for Piton River Lime is Piaye on Sunday March 6, 2011. The event will utilize the newly refurbished “Lucian Tides” now known as Skeeterz Bar & Grill, with the sounds and scenes of the beautiful Caribbean Sea and the famous refreshing Piaye River as the main setting.
Entertainment on the day will include a mix of country and folk acts, traditional dances and local bands. A number of well known Saint Lucian performers will also take to the stage on the day including Groovy Soca Monarch Alpha, Power Soca Monarch HP, Superman HD and Kakal as well as performers from the highly successful 2010 Piton Soca Stars. There will also be performances by the Zouk band, Mamai Kweyol and the Silver Shadow Dance Academy, all coming together to create a true “Looshan” experience on the day.
The River Lime which begins at 1pm will be one with a difference as has been the case with each event. There will be great surprises and fun and game events in which the audience can participate and win prizes. Of course a number of food stalls will cater to the needs of patrons with mouth watering Creole dishes and of course ice cold Piton Beer, on special all day.
According to Piton Brand Manager Germaine Serieux, fans of the popular Piton River Lime can therefore expect to once again experience the fun and excitement that WLBL events are renowned for and in particular an improved Piton River LIME. “For those who have never been we are asking you to take the trip with us whether you are coming down from Castries, the East Coast, the West or from down south itself. We guarantee a unique experience in natural heritage setting where we will present the islands culture at its best alongside our award winning Piton Beer,” Serieux says.
The Piton Brand manager would like to thank all those who have supported the River lime and other events in the past and wants fans to look out for the 2011 edition of Piton Soca Stars which kicks off on April 26, 2011, at the Breadfruit Corner in Gros Islet.
