The Rotary Calabashers, a Humanitarian Musical Performing Group, takes to the stage once again on Saturday, January 22, for Rotary’s charitable causes in Saint Lucia.

The theme of the Rotary Benefit Concert will be “Motown”, derived from the name “Motor Town”, a back in time Musical Genre, founded during the 1960’s in the USA.

The Rotary Calabashers, named for Saint Lucia’s National Tree (The Calabash), will take patrons on a Musical journey back in time to the 60’s to reminisce with hits like “Under the Boardwalk”, “Wonderful World”, “Save the Last Dance”, “Great Pretender”, “Have You Seen Her”, “Blueberry Hill” with artistes like Diana Ross, The Drifters, Lionel Richie, amongst several others of that era.

The Rotary Benefit Concert will be on “main stage” at the Gaiety on Rodney Bay at 8pm, under the baton of Musical Director, Gregory Piper.

All proceeds will go towards charitable causes supported by Rotary in Saint Lucia, and in particular, the proposed “Mobile Youth Counseling Clinic” and “aid to the victims of Hurricane Tomas”.

The public is invited to come out for an evening of “flashback fun” as “The Rotary Calabashers” take you “down memory lane” to the popular (Motown) Musical era of the “sizzling 60’s”.

Tickets are available from Sunshine Book Stores, EC Global Insurance, Basic Blue (Boulevard and Baywalk Stores), Paramount Holdings and from Rotarians Islandwide.
