Shooting near bus stop claims another life

Miguel Augustin is the latest life lost in a spate of gun violence.

St Lucia has recorded yet another deadly weekend with three people being killed. The latest was a shooting near the Ciceron bus stop on Monday morning that claimed the life of Miguel Augustin also known as “Reds”. Details on this shooting are still coming to hand but we will keep you posted.

The other two killings on the weekend were also as a result of gun violence. A Special Police Constable Lucan Lesmond was killed on Sunday morning after he was shot in the head. Police are questioning an unidentified female in this case.

On Saturday the nation learned that Evencius Francis of Dennery was shot at about 12:20 am. Police have yet to arrest anyone for this incident.

Police are investigating whether the latest shooting is connected to the shooting death of Lester Francis, also known as “Bobby”, who was shot and killed while at a bar in the Bois d’Orange area early on Friday morning. Another man who was also shot during the same incident is currently at hospital.
