SPLASH ISLAND WATER PARK CELEBRATES 1 YEAR

168

The Caribbean’s wettest and wildest attraction, Splash Island Water Park Saint Lucia, will be celebrating its 1 year anniversary on 1st August, 2016. There will be a special guest appearance by Soca artist and crowd pleaser extraordinaire, Ezra D Fun Machine, alongside Jiggy and Scoobay, who will perform the popular tune, ‘Swim My Way’ as well as other great hits. There will also be a special guest DJ on hand who will entertain the crowd. Starting 10 a.m., treats will be available for park guests.

Park founder and Managing Director, Mrs. Julianna Ward-Destang, who won the 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year Award, conceptualised the idea of Splash Island in March last year and was able to make her dream of introducing the Caribbean’s first open-water sports park a reality on August 1st, 2015. Almost a year later, over 25,000 patrons have experienced the thrills and spills of the park and had the time of their lives while enjoying the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Since its opening the park has provided thousands of complimentary tickets to under-privileged children from the community, the Boys Training Centre and the Holy Family Children’s Home.

Splash Island recently partnered with the Caribbean Premier League to host 60 kids and the St. Lucia Zouks for the first-ever CPL Beach Olympics Event.

Mrs. Ward-Destang encourages all kids, thrill seekers, families and weekend warriors to come out on Monday, 1st August, a public holiday in Saint Lucia for Emancipation Day, to celebrate this momentous occasion.
