Having won the 2013 Blackheart Knockout Football title, Gros Islet were hoping to win yet another -this time around the St Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Super League Championship. However Dennery had other ideas in Sunday’s late night encounter at the Beausejour Cricket Ground.

Dennery won the SLFA Super League title defeating Gros Islet 3-1, following a scoreless first half with both teams failing to take advantage of scoring opportunities.

Gros Islet broke the 0-0 deadlock when Kevin McPhee scored on a header in the 71st minute. You would have thought momentum was clearly on Gros Islet’s side after scoring the opening goal, but that was not the case. It was Dennery that took command of the game with three unanswered goals.

Calixte Biscette scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute, while McGregor Raymond scored what turned out to be the game winner in the 84th minute. Wendell Felix put the game out of reach with a goal in the 89th minute.  In the third place playoff which preceded the final, runner’s up in the 2013 Blackheart Knockout Football Tournament Babonneau lost 3-0 to Soufriere. Martin Gustave scored twice for Soufriere with Jerome Serville getting the other.
