TALK back with a bang!

156

Just when it seemed the politicians and their endorsers in disguise could rest easy, TALK having gone into endless hibernation, there it was again where it started, more energized than the famous bunny. On Thursday evening Rick Wayne was back on DBS with guest Dr. Claudius Preville, almost as if he had never left the building. He opened by dispelling a rumor that the host alone had heard, about a certain minister-lover of a particular brand of lubricant who, following a visit to Rome, had sought to persuade Saint Lucia’s prime minister to rename Castries Vatican City. Only he had mispronounced it VAT-I-Can!

The rest of the 90-minute show left no room for levity as Wayne resurrected forgotten citizens who had paid with their lives for official incompetence. He acknowledged there were some who had a vested interest in his retirement from TV, if not from life itself. Such folk were of the view that everyone in Saint Lucia already knew how lousy was their prime minister and didn’t want to be further reminded.

“Then let’s quit talking about Ebola,” said an unsmiling Wayne. “Already we’ve heard all there is to hear about the deadly virus.”

The especially bad news, for some, is that Rick Wayne and TALK—to borrow from The Terminator—“will be back” next Thursday, and many more Thursdays by the look of things!
