Team St Lucia resumed their male volleyball game against St Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday morning. The team led comfortably 2-0 (25-13, 25-15 ) a few days ago and 18-15 in the third set, before rain brought a halt to the proceedings.

The organizers agreed that the third set would start afresh, and St Vincent and the Grenadines put up a valiant effort to win that set 25- 15. This was as a result of the numerous errors committed by Team St Lucia.

In the fourth set St Lucia determined to erase their earlier poor showing jumped to an early 5- 0 lead. However St Vincent playing with nothing to lose capitalized on their opponents’ numerous lapses to wrestle the initiative. But with a never say die attitude Team St Lucia mustered all their experience and with their Captain Faulker leading and hitting from the front, eventually saw them home 26-24, thus winning their match 3-1.

Though reeling from their surprise upset defeat at the hands of Dominica Team St Lucia can still win the Male Volleyball title by defeating Grenada by at least 3-0 to be comfortably ahead or by a very low 3-1 margin. This undoubtedly is not beyond them and with a bit more consistency, reduction of errors and renewed focus and intensity, shall be realistically achieved.

Meanwhile to date overall Grenada is in first position followed by Team St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Dominica.
