Once again, a few families within the community of Babonneau were happy recipients of food hampers compliments Benchmark Entertainment, which collaborated with the Babonneau Mothers and Fathers group (BMFG). For over 11 years, BMFG has actively been involved in food drives throughout the community and their collaboration on such a venture was quite noteworthy.
Treasurer for the group, Ms. St. Edwards, remarked: “The timing of this financial donation is most welcome given the ever dwindling contributions and challenges to raise funds. Benchmark Entertainment initiated this collaboration last year and it is a wonderful pleasure to see them once more remaining committed to supporting our cause.”
Benchmark Entertainment through the proceeds from their 2nd annual “Carnival Diaspora” Boat Ride, which took place on Sunday, 20th July, 2014, was committed to assist the indigent and raise the awareness of their plight within local communities.
The diaspora, based in the U.S. Northeast (mainly NY, MA, & NJ) and England, did not only support the cause via ticket sales but also delivered canned foods as a show of added commitment. Zico ‘Digital Bashment’ Robinson of Benchmark Entertainment commented: “The sincere support from all, especially those from the diaspora, is once again deeply appreciated.
They have displayed true dedication in backing our goal of reducing social ills within local comm-unities and I personally must compliment them highly for their efforts.” The “Carnival Diaspora” Boat Ride was the second major event put on by Benchmark Entertainment and by every account, it was exceedingly successful.
The kind backing and support of Jet Blue Airways, Digicel, Diamonds International and Food Centre St. Lucia Ltd. helped ensure the event’s success and subsequently the generous donations to these families became a reality. Benchmark Entertain-ment’s management remains indebted to these valued corporate sponsors and is most grateful for their unwavering pledge of support. Moreover, Benchmark Entertainment will seize every opportunity to engage in socially responsible activities whenever the opportunity arises.
