What an event! Although The LIME Trevor Daniels Football Development Program recorded their lowest attendance in 2 years, the fun factor for the day was over the roof. Twenty six families (84 participants) showed up with nothing but great family fun on their minds and that’s exactly what they got. They completed 13 out 20 races/activities and at Race 12 the Scores were tied at 48 – 48, team Brazil & team Argentina both with eyes on the prize, both with hearts set on being “Fun Champions” of the world (or La Clery at least). Both teams had the passion & fight to be crowned champions and it would come down to the favourite and last activity, and some high flying action Chinese Skip to determine the winners. On Sunday February 28th, 2016 at 535pm Team Brazil (53 points) was named Fun Champions defeating Team Argentina (51 points).
The day would not have been complete without the normal visit from friends Mr & Mrs Mouse, and some fascinating face painting. Sponsors Lime St. Lucia & Sandals Resorts have both expressed their satisfaction with the day’s happenings & pledge their continued support for these kinds of family oriented & community spirit building events.
The organizers wish to encourage more members of the public to join the Family day events. According to them, many children grow up having never seen their parents participate in a sporting activity, and far fewer ever participate alongside their parents. “These are the kind of positive memories we want this generation to hold onto and in time when they are the new parents, they will in turn want to share this kind of experience with their children,” Daniels expressed. Recreational Center of St Lucia would like to thank Lime St.Lucia, Sandals Resorts, Brydens & Partners, Mr Bryan & all the families who turned up and made the event another awesome experience for the kids.
