As the proud platinum sponsor of Saint Lucia Carnival, Digicel continues to support the development of the art form and has yet again endorsed a contestant for the highly prestigious National Carnival Queen Pageant. Miss Kayshia Verneuil has been sashed as Miss Digicel for Carnival 2016 and will confidently represent Digicel throughout the Carnival Season.
Kayshia, a twenty-one-year-old, hails from the village of Laborie, a place she calls “more than just home”. She considers herself an audacious, industrious, energetic and caring individual with a deep passion for community service. As the current Secretary of the Rotaract Club of South St. Lucia, Kayshia believes that everyone should always aspire to contribute to developing their community by giving of self, which further fosters greater personal development.
As an advocate for equality for women, Kayshia encourages women to embrace every opportunity to empower themselves.
She is a former student of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and the Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School, with her elementary and childhood education at the Laborie Primary School. Kayshia has a special connection with children and aspires to be a paediatrician.
Marketing and communications Executive at Digicel, Miss Louise Victor, asserted the company’s elation with Miss Verneuil as Miss Digicel: “The support for yet another young aspiring Saint Lucian in the journey of achieving their dreams is something we continue to pride ourselves on as a company.
“Miss Kayshia Verneuil’s endorsement as Miss Digicel for the National Carnival Queen Pageant meets two of our primary sponsorship principles of investment in arts and culture and also youth development. Kayshia is a dynamic individual with a very positive outlook on life. She is passionate about her community and her personal and professional development. She truly represents our brand of ‘Be Extraordinary’. Her deportment, elegance and poise are worthy of much recognition and we wish her the very best come July 2nd as she vies for the crown.”
On Wednesday June 15 Kayshia spent the morning with her Digicel family at the head office in Rodney Bay where she was surprised with flowers and a bountiful fruit basket from Digicel’s Country Manager Mrs Siobhan James-Alexander with special words of encouragement and inspiration.
