Sarah Abigail Haily Fitz, an eight-year-old Saint Lucian author has published her first children’s book under Morning Oak Publishing in the United States. The full color illustrated book is called “SARAH’S ADVENTURES: A Day At The Beach”.
It is a story about Sarah and her two best friends who are headed to the beach with Sarah’s mom. It describes the key items that children need to know and pack to take with them to the beach.
Living on the island of Saint Lucia, Sarah loves spending time at the beach. She also enjoys snorkeling and swimming. An avid dancer, Sarah has shown a natural talent for the arts. Sarah is currently a 3rd-grade student at the International School Saint Lucia and is continuing to write stories inspired by her everyday experiences.
Sarah’s aunt Hanna Fitz, commissioned a graphic artist to illustrate the book for publishing because she said, “Children are very creative. I wanted Sarah to experience and see that the things she creates are valuable, worth celebrating, and is a viable product for resale and distribution.”
Vicky Gould, who is the founder of Morning Oak Publishing based in Michigan, fell in love with Sarah’s drive and made it possible to get the project out into the world.
We plan to donate some of the royalties from Sarah’s book to a local charity to hopefully inspire more children to use their creativity.
