Abercrombie Lodge Donates to Saint Lucia’s Police Force and Fire Service

RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) by The District Grand Lodge of Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean:

The District Grand Lodge of Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, under the auspices of the United Grand Lodge of England, comprises 21 member Lodges in ten (10) countries, spread over the Caribbean Sea from St. Thomas USVI in the North to Grenada in the South.

On behalf of our District and in response to the devastating effect that the CORONOVIRUS (COVID-19) pandemic has had on member countries generally, our member lodges here in St. Lucia, namely Abercrombie Lodge #2788ER and Abercrombie Holy Royal Arch Chapter #2788, are pleased to reach out to and to make a charitable donation in recognition of the valiant efforts of First Responders and Front line Heroes who have selflessly rendered service in our community.

The District, in responding to feedback from our heroes, presented to the Royal St. Lucia Police Force and the St. Lucia Fire Service with cheques of XCD$2,700.00 and XCD$2,298.00 respectively as tokens of our appreciation for their brave work and unswerving loyalty during this difficult and unprecedented occurrence. This ceremony was one of several which were being simultaneously conducted throughout the District on Sunday May 31st, 2020.

It is anticipated that further charitable initiatives will be forthcoming in the near future as we endeavor to continue to practice “…the distinguishing characteristic of a Freemason’s Heart…CHARITY”.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force and the Saint Lucia Fire Service have been out in full force ensuring the security of the nation and most importantly, enforcing the protocols in force, controlling our borders and assisting the Ministry of Health in searching out and placing in quarantine, all who may have been suspected of exposure to the virus in the various communities.

The presentation of cheques was faithfully applied by W. Bro. Kenneth A. P. Monplaisir and W. Bro. Peter Josie on behalf of the District Grand Lodge of Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean and thankfully received on behalf of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force by Acting Commissioner of Police Mr. Milton Desir and on behalf of the Saint Lucia Fire Service by Leading Fireman 609 Mr. Craig Joseph.
