The event which took place on John Compton Highway on Tuesday January 1st and Wednesday January 2nd, 2013 attracted the traditional large crowds on both days despite inclement weather conditions on the second day.
The highlights of the two-day traditional fair included a packed entertainment programme on both days featuring a wide variety of local artistic performers from around the island, a children’s playground, horseback riding and other traditional performances such as the masquerade. The entertainment, both on the stage and on the fringes all provided a fun filled family atmosphere with something for all ages. In addition, there were no major incidents reported over the two days.
One area of concern to the organizers was the noticeable number of unoccupied stalls. However the many vendors who again participated this year would have been pleased with the massive turnout of the public on both days.
The CDF and the CCC have expressed their gratitude on behalf of the entire Saint Lucian community to all organizations and individuals who contributed to the success of this year’s celebration, and takes this opportunity to wish all a prosperous 2013.
