The Ave Maria Girls’ Infant School presents its annual Mothers’ Pageant, under the theme, “A Mother’s Journey!”
The theme was selected to highlight some of the things a mother has to do or be involved in with her child or in raising that child.
Each contestant will represent an area of that journey. The areas are education, health and nutrition, socialization, spiritual and discipline.
The school continues to recognize and show appreciation for the talent which the mothers of its students possess. Participating will be five contestants who are excited about holding the title of ‘Miss Ave Maria Infant’. The winner of the pageant will serve as an ambassador for the school.
The pageant is into its fourth year and will be held on Sunday 7th June, 2015 from 3:00 pm at the National Cultural Centre.
Additionally, such an event affords the opportunity to encourage and increase parental involvement, socially, spiritually, intellectually and morally; a necessary contribution to the success of the school.
The contestants are mothers of children at all three grade levels at the school. They are: Nelly Alcee, kindergarten; Patrina Reid, Laurina Hennecart and Desma Pierre, grade one and Tracy Mathurin, grade two.
They will compete in the following categories: ambassadorial speech, talent, evening wear and an interview segment. Prizes will be awarded for these appearances, as well as to those contestants who excel in other areas.
The patrons will be well entertained by performers including calypsonians, masqueraders, body builders, and dancers.
Finally, this pageant seeks to raise much needed funds for the school which is therefore soliciting the generosity of corporate citizens towards making this venture a reality.
Tickets cost $25.00 and are available at the school to all who are interested in supporting a worthy cause.
The school would like to thank all its sponsors and looks forward to their continued support in 2016 when it will be celebrating the fifth year.
