At about 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department received a report and as a result proceeded to Fond Le Grand, Castries.
On arrival, they received information that 21-year-old Kennrick Vitalis of Fond Assau, Babonneau, was in the vicinity of Fond Le Grand when he sustained a gunshot wound to the chest area.
He was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and admitted in a critical condition. Vitalis subsequently succumbed to his injuries whilst at the said hospital.
One person is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
