Barbadian National arrested!

On Sunday, October 6, 2013, officers attached to the Drug Unit were summoned to the George F.L. Charles Airport, Vigie Castries by Customs Personnel.

On arrival, they were briefed and introduced to a young female. They were also shown a suitcase belonging to the young lady who was later identified as a 24 year old Barbadian National.

Information indicates that during a routine search of the young lady’s baggage, Customs Personnel observed suspicious looking packages concealed in a false compartment. At the time, she was preparing to board a LIAT flight destined for Barbados.

The Barbadian National was subsequently arrested and taken into custody for the offences of Possession of a Controlled Drug and Possession with the Intent to Supply a Controlled Drug.

Charges are expected to be laid against her shortly.
