Barbados Captures Women’s Cricket Tournament

The Trinidad and Tobago Invitational 19 and Under Women’s Cricket Tournament concluded on Sunday, with all matches abandoned due to the inclement weather.

In the final round, two matches were scheduled to be played at Couva and Caldrac, Saint Lucia versus Barbados and Guyana Versus Trinidad respectively.

Losing the toss, Barbados was sent to bat and posted a comfortable total of 135 in their allotted 20 overs-the most runs scored by any of the five teams which participated in the tournament.

Consistent heavy showers also interrupted play at Caldrac. The match came to a premature end with only 10 overs bowled and one point awarded to all four teams, after the final round resulted in abandonment of matches.
