Apart from its exceptional, award-winning service, Bay Gardens Resorts has become famous for hosting some of the island’s most talked about celebrations. From their popular Calaloo Friday summer limes to their annual New Year’s Eve party, Bay Gardens continues to deliver memorable events.
Jounen Kweyol, in particular, is a time when Bay Gardens is known for its exceptional celebrations. Each year, the Bay Gardens Hotel and Inn hosts a phenomenal cultural celebration next door to its properties, while the Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa hosts an unparalleled Creole buffet inside its very own Hi-Tide Beachside Restaurant. Both events have become anticipated traditions in the island’s North end.
This year, on Sunday October 27th, Bay Gardens Resorts plans to continue both its Jounen Kweyol rituals with the promise that attendees will enjoy their best Creole Day yet.
“Similar to last year, the Bay Gardens Hotel and Bay Gardens Inn will be setting up various Creole food booths from 7am until 7pm in the car park by the Providence Commercial Centre,” said Ms. Waltrude Patrick, General Manager of the Bay Gardens Hotel & Inn, “We’ll also be featuring live entertainment by Mamai Bay Gardens including a drummer, dancer and chantwell, and we’ll be giving away various prizes.”
Meanwhile, further inside Rodney Bay Village, the Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa will be celebrating with its own festivities.
“From noon to 4:30pm, we’ll be serving a large buffet of local and international favorites at Hi-Tide Restaurant,” explained Sen. Berthia Parle, General Manager of the Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa, “And while everyone is enjoying the food, we’ll be featuring costume displays by the La Wen Kweyol Queen and her runner ups, live entertainment by DJ Anderson and the Secret Band, and there’ll also be a Greasy Pole competition for guests to watch and enjoy.”
Though it comes as no surprise that this locally owned and operated hotel chain is taking Jounen Kweyol by storm once again, it may be news to some that Bay Gardens will also be stealing the show for Halloween this year.
Then on November 1st, in the car park by Trios Caribbean Fusion Restaurant, Bay Gardens will once again be hosting its kid-friendly Halloween evening, only this year it will be themed around the musicals “Cats” and “Evita”. The Calaloo-style event will feature prizes for best costumes, face painting for the kids, live entertainment and trick-or-treat candy. Plus, everyone’s favourite local food and drink will be on sale for guests to enjoy.
