Calypso Icon ‘The Mighty Pelay’ passes on

Taken from the publication Iconic St Lucians.

On Wednesday Saint Lucia received news that Jeff ‘Pelay’ Elva had passed on. The calypso great was rumoured to have been sick for a long time and died at hospital. A multiple winner of Saint Lucia’s calypso crown  Pelay is best known for his songs on social commentary and politics and had been in the business for more than four decades.
