On Thursday, October 24, 2013 about 8:00 a.m., officers attached to the Marigot Police Station received a report of a wooden structure destroyed by fire and as a result accompanied the virtual complainant to a banana plantation at Bel Aire, Marigot.
While examining the scene, the discovery was made of a partially burnt body.
Police are yet to ascertain the identity of this individual.
The body was transported to the Victoria Hospital Mortuary where a post mortem examination will be conducted.
Officers are currently investigating the matter.
In this regard, a special appeal is made to any individual, who in the recent has had a family member or friend missing, to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 456 3754/3770. Anyone who has information that can assist with this investigation should also contact the police.
