Christmas In July For the St. Lucia Police Force

Christmas came early this year for the Royal St. Lucia Police Force. On Friday July 24th 2015, Dr. Maurice Aboud. Forensics Lab Director of Caribbean Forensics Services, presented a Trace Evidence Kit to the Royal St. Lucia Police Force at a press conference at the Police Training School in LaToc. According to the Acting Police Commissioner, this particular kit was chosen specifically by “the expects of crime scenes” in St. Lucia at a time when dialogue is taking place in various public spheres about the preservation of crimes scenes and the attainment of convictions when witnesses are not forthcoming. These views were further echoed by Dr. Aboud who affirmed that the kit would be useful to “collect, preserve and analyze evidence in a manner” in which such evidence can be “upheld in court and lead to conviction”. Dr. Aboud also spoke of the possibility of assisting in further training for the Force. We can only hope that this new gift brings much comfort those who are waiting patiently for answers to secure convictions and bury the dead.

  • We can only hope. The same way we hoped that the state of the art forensic lab would help solve crimes.

What is the latest on the Lab...any news Rick?
