Head Coach Roosevelt Romain says that he is very proud of his swim club achievements over the short period in which the club was formed.
Coach Romain says that he loves developing young swimmers to reach their highest potential and get the best out of them. It is what he lives for, its a passion, a gift that can’t be explained but given to him by God; its a calling he says.
In August last month six swimmers where selected from his swim club to represent St.Lucia at the Good Will Games. He, too was selected to be part of the coaching staff and embraces it with honor. The Games was held in Barbados and it was a fantastic experience for the swimmers and more so for Coach Romain. Taking in all that he saw into consideration which sparked an adrenaline fuse in him, he hopes this will keep him on the path to his club success.
Coach Romain also says judging from his club performance in the Summer Festival swim meet after training out of a ten meter pool and using the
beach to his advantage to make up for distance, the swimmers did extremely well. They broke records and achieved personal best times in many of their different events whilst winning gold in most of them. The coach says all he can keep on teaching the kids is that “the sky is the limit.
