Margret Thatcher saw nothing wrong in taking elocution lesions when she became Prime Minister of England. Some of the people sitting in the house would bring the house down with laughter were they to speak at an international conference. And what about the MP’s other half, when it was suggested to her that her man would benefit from not using/pronouncing the word ‘the’ as ‘De’, and that speaking lessons (elocution) might be of benefit. There are thousands of words in the dictionary is it humanly possible to know the proper pronunciation of every single word?
Anglophones will pronounce an english word differently from a Francophone and vice versa.
