The countdown has begun towards the most anticipated festival in the Caribbean. The revamped, rebranded and reenergized Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival will begin here at month’s end at the ‘people’s auditorium’ – The Mindoo Phillip Park.
The Opening is being headlined by Jamaican dancehall reggae artiste Garfield Spence, aka Konshens. Patrons are expected to groove to the melodious music of Haitian Compas band T-Vice. The best of Saint Lucian musical mastery will also be on display with the Ultimate Party Machine – a collaboration of leading national entertainers led by Thygeson ‘Penn’ Joseph and soca and groovy-soca heavyweights Superman HD and Ricky T. Rounding off the cast at the April 30th Opening of the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival will be Trinidadian Soca star Kerwin Dubois and ragga-soca artiste Benjai.
Tickets for the Opening of the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival are priced at EC$40 or US$20. Meantime from today, April 2, patrons logging onto www.stluciajazz.org to purchase tickets for main stage performances, which runs from May 8 – 12, will benefit from a 10 percent discount applied to bulk purchases comprising 20 or more tickets.
