Joseph “Reds” Perreira who over the years had a long relationship with the club said: “This is historical and 150 years is a long time for a club to exist. It has produced a number of outstanding West Indian players and it is a major effort at this time to have the sense of occasion to celebrate.”
Perreira who left St Lucia on Tuesday was unsure exactly what part he would play in the celebration, but looks forward to it and also the start of the tri-nation series taking place at the cricket ground.
Perriera also expressed gratitude to Sagicor for assisting with his travel arrangements.
