The Department of External Affairs Announce the Opening of Applications for the Australian Government’s Direct Aid Program

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Department of External Affairs informs that applications for the 2017-18 cycle of the Australian Government’s Direct Aid Program (DAP) will open from 1-30 September 2017.  The DAP is a flexible small grants program that supports developmental outcomes in Official Development Assistance (ODA) – eligible countries in the Caribbean.  Saint Lucian projects which have benefitted from this program include:

Sacred Sports – chAMPS

Mon Repos Sports Council – Youth High Jump and Hurdles

Saint Lucia National Trust – Supporting Seamoss Farming

National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) – Prosthetic Rehabilitation and Repairs Workshop

Further to this, the Australian High Commission will host an information session on August 8, 2017 from 10:00am to 12:00noon at the 5th Floor Conference Room, Department of Finance, Finance Administrative Centre, Pointe Seraphine, Castries, for local government bodies, non-governmental organizations, community based organizations and individuals.
