Digicel, proud sponsor of the Limacol Caribbean Premiere League (LCPL), gave two extraordinary customers, Magdalene Daniel and Sherneil Charlery, the once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in the prestigious Coin Toss and Man of the Match presentations at the final of three cricket matches played in the tournament here in St Lucia.

As West Indians, cricket invokes a unitying passion and pride that unites Caribbean people. In recognition of that, Digicel the ‘Be Extraordinary’ network is committed to building on that by bringing the game directly to the fans.  Presenting the biggest party in sport, fans across the island came out in large numbers to support the home team St. Lucia Zouks.

At Saturday’s Twenty/20 match against the Jamaica’s Tallawah, two lucky Digicel cricket fans were part of this historical match in a significant way. Digicel launched its Facebook Coin Toss and Man of the Match promotion a few weeks ago which gave them a chance to win participation in the game.  Cricket fans simply had to have some fun and caption the picture placed on the page.

Sherneil Charlery from the community of Mon Repos emerged the winner of the official presentation of the most runs made in the match.  “Being a loyal cricket fan I was delighted to have won and look forward to this wonderful experience.  This is a real joy for me as cricket is one of the more significant things in my life,” said Magdalene.

Digicel’s commitment to sporting development through up and coming talent was the motiving force behind the announcement of  fifteen-year old Sherneil Charlery as the one who will do the Coin Toss to commence the match.  This unique honor will forever be etched in the mind of this young cricket fan. “I have had a love for this sport from the tender age of five and as an aspiring sports physiologist I am
excited to present this prize to its winner,” noted young Charlery.

Digicel’s Marketing Manager Kerchelle Jn Charles noted, “As proud sponsor of this wonderful tournament, were excited to be hosting three of the most exciting matches here in St Lucia.  All matches have been compelling and Digicel understands how much cricket means to St Lucians.

Digicel’s mission was to bring the full experience and excitement of the game to its customers and we are happy and thrilled for the two winners.
